The invention provides a drug dosage form prepared by compression techniques comprising: a thyroid drug treated with a first pharmaceutically acceptable oil to substantially waterproof the thyroid drug; and a pharmaceutically acceptable excipient admixed with a second pharmaceutically acceptable oil to substantially waterproof the pharmaceutically acceptable excipient, wherein the first pharmaceutically acceptable oil is different from the second pharmaceutically acceptable oil; the drug dosage form prepared by: (a) dispersing the thyroid drug in the first pharmaceutically acceptable oil; (b) admixing the excipient and the second pharmaceutically acceptable oil; and (c) compacting the thyroid drug and the excipient into dosage forms using compression pressures of up to 5,000 psi/g. The dosage form may be used for treating a patient in need of thyroid replacement therapy.

L'invention porte sur une forme posologique préparée par des techniques de compression comprenant les éléments suivants : un médicament destiné aux troubles de la thyroïde traité avec une première huile pharmaceutiquement acceptable afin de l'imperméabiliser considérablement, et un excipient pharmaceutiquement acceptable dans lequel on ajoute une deuxième huile pharmaceutiquement acceptable pour imperméabiliser considérablement ce dernier, où la première huile pharmaceutiquement acceptable est différente de la deuxième huile pharmaceutiquement acceptable. La forme posologique a été préparée à l'aide des étapes suivantes : a) disperser le médicament contre les troubles de la thyroïde dans la première huile pharmaceutiquement acceptable; b) mélanger l'excipient et la deuxième huile pharmaceutiquement acceptable; et c) compacter le médicament et l'excipient en formes pologiques par une compression pouvant atteindre 5 000 psi/g. La forme posologique peut être utilisée pour traiter un patient ayant besoin d'un traitement substitutif destiné aux troubles thyroïdiens.
