A process for recovery of organic chemicals from an aquifer consists of injecting a suspension of polymer latex into the groundwater upstream of the source of the organic chemicals. The natural flow of the groundwater will carry the polymer latex within close proximity to the organic chemicals where the polymer latex will absorb the organic chemicals. The groundwater is then extracted downstream from the contamination. The contaminated polymer latex is then removed from the groundwater.
