2,6-PYRIDINEDIMETHANOL 2-[.alpha.-(p-CHLOROPHENOXY)- ISOBUTYRIC ACID] ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The invention relates to the preparation of 2,6- pyridinedimethanol 2-[.alpha.-(p-chlorophenoxy) isobutyric] acid ester, of structural formula: Image and of its pharmaceutically acceptable salts. According to the invention, .alpha.-(p-chlorophenoxy) isobutyric acid and 2,6-pyridinedimethanol are reacted in equimolar pro- portions, in the presence of an acid catalyst, preferably a sulfonic acid or sulphuric acid, in a medium nonmiscible with water, preferably, xylene or toluene. The product is particularly applicable to the treatment of disorders of the lipidlc metabolism.
