The present invention provides the use of PEG-IFN-.alpha. conjugates in association with ribavirin for the treatment of chronic hepatitis B infections. The present invention also provides a method for treating chronic hepatitis B infections in patien in need of such treating comprising administering an amount of PEG-IFN-.alpha. conjugate in association with an amount of ribavirin effective to treat chronic hepatitis B.
