The invention relates to positioning and installing a windshield (40) within a vehicle frame (11). An installer places a windshield (40) within the vehicle frame (11) and aligns the windshield using a dart (20 and 21) to position and engage the windshield within the windshield opening. The dart (20 and 21) engages a dart-receiving means, such as a dart-receiving slot (44) located in the windshield's trim piece (46). The installer aligns the dart-receiving slot (44) with the dart (20 and 21), then adjusts the position of the windshield (40) as needed.
