Apparatus for shaping the deflated profile of a laryngeal mask (10) and which comprises a body (20) having a cavity (21) therein, the mouth (22) of the cavity (21) being shaped to accommodate the elliptical outline of an inflated mask in an inverted condition, and having sufficient depth (d) to accommodate the inverted mask and air tube. The sides (26-31) of the cavity preferably incline inwardly. If an inverted mask is deflated and simultaneously pushed downwards into the cavity an optimized shape for the deflated mask is achieved.

L'invention concerne un appareil pour former le contour dégonflé d'un masque laryngien (10). Cet appareil comporte un corps (20) dans lequel est ménagée une cavité (21). L'ouverture (22) de cette cavité (21) est formée pour recevoir le contour elliptique d'un masque dégonflé, dans une position inversée, et présente une profondeur suffisante (d) pour recevoir le masque inversé et le tube d'air. Les côtés (26-31) de la cavité s'inclinent, de préférence, vers l'intérieur. Lorsqu'un masque inversé est dégonflé et poussé en même temps vers le bas, dans la cavité, il est possible d'obtenir une forme optimisée du masque dégonflé.
