ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An apparatus for collecting a predetermined number of blanks, particularly paper sheets or the like, from a stack or from an endless web at a first station and for transferring the blanks to a second station located underneath the first station includes two flaps for collecting the blanks. The flaps are arranged at the exit of the first station. The flaps are mounted so as to be simultaneously pivotable about axes located in a common horizontal plane from a horizontal collecting position into a vertically downwardly directed transfer position and back again into the horizontal collecting position. 11
