The invention relates to a device for transanally inserting through the lower bowel one of two unitary members of a Biofragmentable Anastomosis Ring (BAR). The device comprises a curved shaft with a handle and an actuating knob at the proximal end, a nest formed at the distal end of the shaft adapted to mount a BAR carrier assembly, and a second passageway formed through the shaft that terminates at a distal open end formed through the nest. The BAR carrier assembly includes unitary male and female members that collectively comprise the BAR, male and female carriers for mounting the respective unitary member, and a collet for locking in and releasing the BAR from the BAR carrier assembly once both unitary members are secured to respective open ends of the upper and lower bowel section. The BAR Carrier Assembly is actuatable in one of three positions: open, closed, and released.

Dispositif permettant d'introduire par la voie anale dans la partie inférieure de l'intestin un ou plusieurs éléments individuels d'une bague d'anastomose biofragmentable. Ledit dispositif comporte une tige incurvée dotée d'une poignée et un bouton d'actionnement à l'extrémité proximale, un évidement formé à l'extrémité distale de la tige, adapté pour monter un ensemble porte-bague, et un second passage formé dans la tige et qui se termine au niveau de l'extrémité ouverte formée dans l'évidement. L'ensemble porte-bague comporte des éléments unitaires mâle et femelle qui constituent collectivement la bague, des supports mâle et femelle pour monter l'élément unitaire respectif, et un élément de serrage destiné à verrouiller la bague au porte-bague et à l'en libérer une fois que les deux éléments unitaires sont fixés à des extrémités ouvertes respectives des parties supérieure et inférieure de l'intestin. L'ensemble porte-bague peut être actionné dans trois positions différentes: ouverte, fermée et libérée. Une fois l'élément mâle fixé à la partie supérieure de l'intestin, le chirurgien attache le support mâle et l'élément mâle associé à l'ensemble porte-bague, plaçant ainsi l'ensemble en position ouverte. Le chirurgien place ensuite l'ensemble porte-bague en position fermée en appariant l'élément mâle à l'élément femelle placé dans l'évidement. Une fois l'ensemble en position fermée, le chirurgien place ledit ensemble porte-bague en position libérée en actionnant le dispositif d'introduction et en libérant les éléments unitaires appariés de la bague de l'ensemble porte-bague et en ressortant le dispositif d'introduction de la partie inférieure de l'intestin.
