Polyketones are manufactured by reacting an aromatic carboxylic acid with a bireactive aromatic compound, using as a catalyst a combination of a carboxylic acid anhydride and phosphoric acid, or equivalents thereof. The product polymers are useful as molding resins.

L'invention concerne des polycétones produits par réaction d'un acide carboxylique aromatique et d'un composé aromatique biréactif, à l'aide d'un catalyseur qui est une association d'anhydride d'acide carboxylique et d'acide phosphorique, ou de leurs équivalents. Les polymères obtenus sont utiles comme résines à mouler.
