A fluid pressurizing system and method according to which a fluid at a low pressure is compressed by fluid to increase its pressure to enable it to be discharged from the system and to an external delivery point. The system includes an inlet line (18) for admitting a fluid to a first reservoir (10) via branch (18a) and for admitting a fluid to a second reservoir (12) via branch (18b). After reaching a high level control unit (40), a pump (32) discharges the liquid from the second reservoir (12) to the first reservoir (10). The increased pressure generated in the first reservoir (10) eventually exceeds the downstream pressure at the discharge check valve (24) and the fluid in the upper portion of the reservoir (10) is displaced from the reservoir (10) into and through the discharge flow line (22) for delivery to an external point.

Cette invention a trait à un appareillage pour compression de fluide et au procédé correspondant dans le cadre duquel un fluide à faible pression est comprimé par un autre fluide afin d'élever sa pression et de le transférer dudit appareillage vers un site extérieur de distribution. Cet appareillage comporte un conduit d'admission (18) servant à introduire un fluide dans un premier réservoir (10) via un branchement (18a) ainsi qu'à introduire un fluide dans un second réservoir (12) via un autre branchement (18b). Lorsque le fluide est parvenu à un niveau élevé, une unité de commande (40) active une pompe (32) qui évacue le liquide du second réservoir (12) et le transfère vers le premier (10). L'élévation de pression survenant dans le premier réservoir (10) finit par dépasser un certain seuil, en l'occurrence la pression en aval au niveau d'un clapet anti-retour d'évacuation (24), le fluide se trouvant dans la partie supérieure du réservoir (10) pénètre alors dans un circuit d'évacuation (22) qui l'achemine vers un site extérieur.
