This process for purifying an alkanesulfonyl chloride (CAS) to decrease its sulfate content involves washing the alkanesulfonyl chloride in water or an aqueous solution of an acid with a pH of -0.57 to 7, then separating the purified alkanesulfonyl chloride from the aqueous phase. The purified CAS thus obtained results, through total hydrolysis, in alkanesulfonic acid with a low sulphuric acid content.
Ce procédé de purification d'un chlorure d'alcane-sulfonyle (CAS) pour en diminuer la teneur en sulfates consiste à laver le chlorure d'alcanesulfonyle par de l'eau ou par une solution aqueuse d'un acide ayant un pH compris entre -0,57 et 7, puis à séparer ensuite le chlorure d'alcanesulfonyle ainsi purifié de la phase aqueuse. Le CAS purifié ainsi obtenu conduit par hydrolyse totale à de l'acide alcanesulfonique à faible teneur en acide sulfurique.
