A technique to preserve absorbent core integrity in a disposable article is described. Columns which protude from the backing sheet of an absorbent disposable article or personal wear garment and which project into the fibrous mass of an absorbent core overlaid onto a liquid impervious backing sheet are disclosed. A top sheet which is pervious to liquids overlies the core of fibrous material encapsulating the absorbent core in cooperation with the backing sheet. The top sheet also may carry similar columns. These columns act to restrict the movement of the fibers in the absorbent core and more particularly to enhance and maintain the integrity of the absorbent core whenever wet and/or placed under stress. These columns serve to resist and to diminish any disintegration of the absorbent core.
Cette invention concerne une technique permettant de préserver l'intégrité de la partie centrale absorbante d'un article jetable. Dans cette invention on utilise des colonnes qui dépassent de la feuille de support d'un article jetable absorbant ou d'un sous-vêtement et qui se projettent dans la masse fibreuse d'une partie centrale absorbante déposée sur une feuille de support imperméable aux liquides. Une feuille supérieure, perméable aux liquides, recouvre la partie centrale formée de matière fibreuse et entoure la partie centrale absorbante et la feuille de support. Cette feuille supérieure peut également comporter des colonnes similaires. Ces colonnes servent à réduire le déplacement des fibres dans la partie absorbante et, plus spécifiquement, à renforcer et conserver l'intégrité de ladite partie centrale absorbante dès lors qu'elle est humide et/ou soumise à des contraintes. Ces colonnes renforcent la résistance de la partie centrale absorbante et réduisent la décomposition qu'elle peut subir.
