A thin, flexible film which when applied to stained teeth is hydrated by saliva and is effective in such form to whiten teeth, the film comprising an anhydrous water hydratable ethylene oxide polymer matrix containing a solid peroxide whitening agent whereby upon application to stained tooth surfaces, the peroxide whitening agent is solublilized by saliva present in the oral cavity into active whitening activity when the film is positioned and placed on the teeth.

L'invention concerne un film mince flexible. Lorsque ce film est appliqué sur des dents tachées, il est humidifié par la salive et agit ainsi efficacement dans le blanchiment des dents. Le film selon l'invention est constitué d'une matrice polymère d'oxyde d'éthylène, humidifiable à l'eau, anhydre, contenant un agent de blanchiment peroxyde solide. Lorsqu'il est appliqué sur les surfaces dentaires tachées, l'agent de blanchiment peroxyde est solubilisé par la salive présente dans la cavité buccale, et présente une activité de blanchiment actif lorsque le film est disposé et mis en place sur les dents.
