The invention relates to the use of pyrazolo[4,3-d]pyrimidines of formula (I) - wherein R1, R2, R3, R4 and X have the designations cited in claim 1 - and the physiologically acceptable salts and/or solvates thereof, for producing a medicament for the treatment of angina, hypertension, pulmonary hypertension, congestive heart failure, arteriosclerosis, conditions of reduced patency of the heart vessels, peripheral vascular diseases, apoplexy, bronchitis, allergic asthma, chronic asthma, allergic rhinitis, glaucoma, irritable bowel syndrome, tumours, kidney failure, and cirrhosis of the liver, and for the treatment of female sexual disorders.
