METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR FLUORESCENE PULSE AREA/PEAK SIZE PARAMETER MEASUREMENT FOR CELL ANALYSIS USING WHOLE BLOOD ABSTRACT A flow cytometry device is disclosed. The flow cytometry device has equipment for discriminating between particles of different sizes. The flow cytometry device detects fluorescence emitted by the particles and produces electrical pulses in response to the passage of the particles through a light beam. Electronic circuitry integrates the pulses. The integrated pulses are divided by the pulse amplitudes by subtraction of the logs of the integrals and pulse amplitudes to obtain a size parameter. The device has means to discriminate between particles having different size parameters.
