A digital loss of lock detection (LLD) device for a phase looked loop (PLL) generates a locked frequency signal synchronized with a reference frequency signal. The LLD comprises first to fifth latching means for detecting when the reference clock failed high/low, when the locked clock failed high/low and when the reference clock is outside the tracking range of the PLL. The first to fifth latching means provide respectively a first to fifth error signals for each type of the above faults.

L'invention est un dispositif numérique de détection de déverrouillages de phase pour boucle à asservissement de phase qui produit un signal à fréquence asservie synchronisé avec un signal de fréquence de référence. Le dispositif de détection de déverrouillages comporte cinq dispositifs de verrouillage servant à signaler quand le signal d'horloge de référence est défaillant à l'état haut ou à l'état bas, quand le signal d'horloge asservi est défaillant à l'état haut ou à l'état bas et quand le signal d'horloge de référence trouve à l'extérieur de la gamme de poursuite de la boucle à asservissement de phase. Les cinq dispositifs de verrouillage produisent chacun un signal d'erreur correspondant respectivement à l'une des cinq défaillances mentionnées ci-dessus.
