An air contamination removal device for promoting the removal of combustion products of gas furnaces and gas water heaters, and radon gas from basements of buildings. The device is mounted in a basement wall or window opening and is comprised of a duct, a hood at an entrance end of the duct and a damper assembly at an exit end of the duct. When there is a negative pressure in the basement a damper automatically opens allowing air to be drawn into the basement. A pair of balance weights are mounted on the damper to immediately open the damper when the pressure becomes negative.
