This invention involves activated alumina conglomerates which can function as a catalyst support, a procedure for producing these conglomerates and a device used in the procedure. The procdure consists of subjecting conglomerates obtained by shaping activated alumina to a specific hydrothermal process and then drying the conglomerates and subjecting them to thermal processing. According to the invention, the hydrothermal processing involves impregnating the conglomerates with water or an aqueous acid, arranging them in a chamber, placing the said chamber in an autoclave and bringing the conglomerates to a temperature of at least 80°C by circulating a hot fluid around the walls of the said chamber. Conglomerates produced in this way have better attrition properties. The procedure and the device used to produce the conglomerates improve the implementation of the hydrotreatment process.
L'invention concerne des agglomérés d'alumine activée notamment utilisables comme support de catalyseur, un procédé de fabrication de ces agglomérés et un dispositif pour la mise en oeuvre de ce procédé qui consiste à soumettre des agglomérés obtenus par mise en forme d'alumine activée à un traitement hydrothermal particulier avant de les sécher et les soumettre à un traitement thermique. Selon l'invention, le traitement hydrothermal consiste à imprégner les agglomérés avec de l'eau ou une solution aqueuse acide, à les disposer dans une enceinte, à disposer ladite enceinte dans un autoclave et à porter les agglomérés à une température au moins égale a 80°C par alimentation d'un fluide chaud autour des parois de ladite enceinte. Les agglomérés ainsi obtenus présentent une meilleure attrition. Le procédé et le dispositif utilisés pour les obtenir améliorent la mise en oeuvre du traitement d'hydrotraitement.
