A laminate generally includes: (a) a multilayer, gas-impermeable film capable of delaminating into a gas-permeable portion and a gas-impermeable portion, the gas-permeable portion in adherence with the gas-impermeable portion at a predetermined intra-film cohesive strength; and (b) a gas-permeable film bonded to the gas-impermeable film at a bond-strength that is greater than the intra-film cohesive strength between the gas-permeable and gas-impermeable portions of the gas-impermeable film. In this manner, when the laminate is subjected to a delaminating force, the laminate delaminates within the gas- impermeable film such that the gas-permeable portion of the gas-impermeable film remains bonded to the gas-permeable film. A package and method of making a package using the laminate as a lidding film are also disclosed.

L'invention concerne un stratifié comportant généralement: (a) un film multicouche, imperméable aux gaz, capable de se délaminer en une partie perméable aux gaz et une partie imperméable aux gaz, la partie perméable aux gaz étant collée à la partie imperméable aux gaz selon une force de liaison intra-film prédéterminée; et (b) un film perméable aux gaz, lié au film imperméable aux gaz selon une force de liaison supérieure à la force de liaison intra-film, entre les parties perméable et imperméable aux gaz du film imperméable aux gaz.
