This invention is known as a Fishing Pole Holder. It is designed for the purpose of anchoring and holding a fisherman's angling rod in an upright position after he has cast his line into the water. The fisherman can then leave his rod unattended. This device is designed for a dual function. It not only holds an angler's rod in the required position on a lakeside or riverbank it also is utilized as a device to store this fishing rod when it is not being used. This simple mechanism consists of a section of hollow tubing with a retention liner at one internal diameter end and a reversible housing assembly, containing a ground spike and storage hook, which is inserted onto the opposing end of the tube. When the unit is being activated as a fishing rod holding device, the housing is inserted onto the external diameter of one end of the tubing in such a manner that the ground spike is allowed to protrude. This spike is inserted into the ground at the required distance from the water. Into the opposite end of the tubing the handle of the fishing rod is inserted. When the unit is being activated in the storage mode the housing is removed from the tube and re-inserted onto the tube so that the hook end protrudes. This allows the fishing equipment to be hung in a vertical manner. At the opposite end of the tubing the knob end of the fishing rod is inserted into the retention liner which secures the rod in the tube. This allows the storage of the angling rod, by means of the hook, into an upright position.
