A system and method for pulse-width-modulation (PWM) communications using an adaptive pulse-duration threshold. In this embodiment, a PWM device will analyze a data string from a PWM transmission from a second device, and adaptively determine an appropriate pulse-duration threshold for that communication. After doing so, the PWM device can then receive and transmit data as needed with the second device. This adaptive PWM protocol can enable effective communications with multiple devices with different configurations.

L'invention concerne un système et un procédé de communication par modulation d'impulsions en largeur (PWM) utilisant un seuil de durée d'impulsion adaptatif. Dans ce mode de réalisation, un dispositif PWM analyse une chaîne de données d'une transmission PWM en provenance d'un second dispositif et détermine de façon adaptative un seuil de durée d'impulsion approprié pour cette communication. Après ces opérations, le dispositif PWM peut alors échanger des données avec le second dispositif suivant les besoins. Ce protocole PWM adaptatif peut permettre d'effectuer des communications efficaces avec de multiples dispositifs présentant différentes configurations.
