The invention relates to methods for predicting the clinical outcome of a patient which suffers from breast cancer based on the expression levels of BRCA1, wherein low BRCA1 expression levels are indicative of a good prognosis. Moreover, the invention relates to methods for predicting the response to a neoadjuvant therapy based on a combination of an anti-metabo-lite, an intercalating agent and an alkylating agentof a patient which suffers from breast cancer based on the expression levels of BRCA1.
