A deployment apparatus (35) for a flexible cover (30) sized to cover a side- dump container (10) comprises first and second swing arm assemblies (45) pivotally mounted at a pivot point (48) to opposite sides of the container. A drive assembly (39) connected to the roll tube (37) of the flexible cover (30) is operable to rotate the roll tube (37) so that the flexible cover (30) winds around the roll tube (37). The drive assembly (39) is slidably supported on one of the swing arms (50) so that the mechanism (39) translates along the length of the swing arm (50) as it winds the flexible cover (30) around the roll tube (37). A stop (55) is provided on the swing arm (50) between the pivot point (48) and the free end (52) to limit the translation of the drive assembly (39) along swing arm (50). In another form, the drive assembly (39) is fixed to a swing arm (50) that is slidably received in a pivoting spring mechanism (68).
La présente invention a trait à un appareil de déploiement pour un couvercle flexible dimensionné à recouvrir un conteneur à vidage latéral comportant des premier et deuxième ensembles de bras basculants montés à pivotement aux côtés opposés du conteneur. Un ensemble d'entraînement relié au tube roulant du couvercle flexible est opérable pour faire tourner le tube roulant de sorte que le couvercle flexible s'enroule autour du tube roulant. L'ensemble d'entraînement est supporté à coulissement sur un des bras basculants de sorte que le mécanisme effectue un mouvement de translation selon la longueur du bras basculant au fur et à mesure de l'enroulement du couvercle flexible autour du tube roulant.
