A method and system for providing alternative prepaid service when a serving Packet Data Service Node (PDSN) does not support prepaid or at least the type of prepaid the user has subscribed to. The serving PDSN sends an access request to a Home Authorization, Authentication & Accounting Prepaid Server (HAAA/PPS) with an indication of its capability to support prepaid service and to terminate sessions based on requests from remote nodes. When the serving PDSN is neither capable of prepaid service, nor does it support session termination by a remote node, the HAAA/PPS determines that a prepaid session is allowed and supported in combination with a Home Agent (HA) for duration- based prepaid service. When the PDSN is not prepaid capable but supports session termination capability, the HAAA/PPS determines that any type of prepaid service can be allowed and supported by the HAAA/PPS in combination with the HA.
Cette invention se rapporte à un procédé et à un système servant à fournir un service de prépaiement alternatif lorsqu'un noeud de services de paquets de données (PDSN) serveur ne prend pas en charge le mode de prépaiement ou du moins le type de prépaiement auquel l'utilisateur est abonné. Le noeud PDSN serveur envoie une demande d'accès à un serveur d'autorisation, d'authentification et de comptabilité de prépaiement domestique (HAAA/PPS) avec une indication de sa capacité à prendre en charge le service de prépaiement et à mettre fin aux sessions sur la base des demandes provenant de noeuds distants. Lorsque le noeud PDSN serveur ne peut ni offrir un service de prépaiement ni prendre en charge la fin des sessions par un noeud distant, le serveur HAAA/PPS détermine qu'une session de prépaiement est autorisée et prise en charge en association avec un agent domestique (HA) pour un service de prépaiement basé sur la durée. Lorsque le noeud PDSN n'est pas capable d'offrir un service de prépaiement mais prend en charge de la fonction de fin de session, le serveur HAAA/PPS détermine que tout type de services de prépaiement peut être autorisé et pris en charge par le serveur HAAA/PPS en association avec l'agent domestique HA.
