It is intended to provide a novel examination method for accurately judging the efficacy of a treatment with a carcinostatic agent in the administration of the carcinostatic agent targeting a tumor-associated factor receptor. In judging the efficacy of a carcinostatic agent trastuzumab (HerceptinTM), it is found out meaningful to examine the expression of MUC4 which is a substance interacting with HER2/c-erbB-2 belonging to the epithelial cell growth factor receptor family on the surface of a cell membrane and/or in a cell membrane. Based on this finding, there has been established the significance of a search for the expression of an intracellular ligand to a tumor-associated factor receptor as an examination method before the initiation of a treatment with a carcinostatic agent targeting the receptor for treating various types of cancer.

Il est tenté de proposer un nouveau procédé d~examen pour juger avec précision de l~efficacité d~un traitement avec un agent carcinostatique lors de l~administration de l~agent carcinostatique visant un récepteur de facteur associé à une tumeur. En estimant l~efficacité d~un agent carcinostatique trastuzumab (Herceptine?TM¿), il a été constaté l~intérêt d~examiner l~expression de MUC4 qui est une substance interagissant avec HER2/c-erbB-2 appartenant à la famille du récepteur de facteur de croissance des cellules épithéliales sur la surface des membranes cellulaires et/ou dans les membranes cellulaires. Basée sur cette découverte, la pertinence d~une recherche de l~expression d~un ligand intracellulaire d~un récepteur de facteur associé à une tumeur comme procédé d~examen avant le commencement d~un traitement avec un agent carcinostatique visant le récepteur pour traiter divers types de cancers a été montrée.
