A composition comprising a mixture of higher primary aliphatic alcohols from 24 to 39 carbon atoms; at least one another component selected from resins and pigments, hydrocarbons, esters, ketones and aldehydes, and phenolic compounds, and nicotinic acid, its salts or derivatives thereof optionally with excipients, and process of preparation of such composition is provided. Also provided are method of treatment and use of such composition for reducing abnormal lipid parameters associated with hyperlipidemia. The compositions of the present invention are useful pharmaceutically or as a dietary supplement.

La présente invention concerne une composition comprenant un mélange d'alcools aliphatiques supérieurs contenant de 24 à 39 atomes de carbones; au moins un autre composant choisi parmi les résines et les pigments, les hydrocarbures, les esters, les cétones et les aldéhydes, et des composés phénoliques, et de l'acide nicotinique, leurs sels ou des dérivés de ceux-ci, éventuellement avec des excipients. La présente invention concerne également un procédé permettant de préparer une telle composition. Cette invention concerne également une méthode thérapeutique consistant à utiliser une telle composition pour réduire les paramètres lipidiques anormaux associés à l'hyperlipidémie. Les compositions décrites dans cette invention sont utiles sur le plan pharmaceutique ou en tant que complément alimentaire.
