ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An oxazole compound having the formula (I): Image (I) in which A is a group of the formula -CH2OR2 (wherein R2 is a hydrogen atom, an optionally substituted hydrocarbon residue, an optionally substituted heterocyclic group or an acyl group) or an aldehyde group, B is an optionally substituted phenyl group, R1 is a hydrogen atom or an optionally substituted alkyl group, and n is an integer of 0 to 6, provided that when n is 2, R1 is an optionally substituted alkyl group, or its salt, which is useful as a therapeutic agent for metabolic bone diseases including osteoporosis.
