A continuous cast aluminum alloy strip is used in the production of thin gauge or converter foils. The alloy strip contains 0.4 to 0.8 % by weight Fe and 0.2 to 0.4 % by weight Si, has an as cast thickness of less than about 30mm and contains a substantially single intermetallic species of alpha-phase. The strip is cast using a continuous strip caster, e.g. a block or belt caster.

On utilise dans la fabrication de feuilles de faible épaisseur ou de convertisseur une bande d'alliage d'aluminium coulée en continu. Cette bande d'alliage contient de 0,4 à 0,8 % en poids de Fe et de 0,2 à 0,4 % en poids de Si, présente une épaisseur brute de coulée inférieure à environ 30 mm et contient une espèce intermétallique sensiblement unique de phase alpha. Ladite bande est coulée à l'aide d'un dispositif de coulée de bandes, tel que par exemple, un dispositif de coulée à modules ou à courroie.
