The invention concerns a surgical instrument including a needle (100) and an associated catheter (200) able to slide into the needle for the purposes of peridural anesthesia. The catheter is equipped with a set of main axial gauge marks (210) capable of matching up, when the catheter (200) is introduced into the needle (100), with an index (2) defined on it to indicate, by simple reading, without calculation, the length (L) of the catheter beyond the distal end (1100) of the needle, and is equipped with a set of auxiliary axial gauge marks, easily differentiated from the main gauge mark (210), and designed to indicate, by simple reading, without calculation, the length of the catheter extending from its distal end as far as each of the said auxiliary gauge marks.
L'invention concerne un instrument chirurgical comprenant une aiguille (100) et un cathéter (200) associé, susceptible de coulisser dans l'aiguille, notamment pour opération d'anesthésie péridurale. Le cathéter est muni d'un ensemble de repères axiaux principaux (210) susceptibles de coïncider, lorsque le cathéter (200) est introduit dans l'aiguille (100), avec un index (1) dé- fini sur celle-ci, pour indiquer, par simple lecture, sans calculs, la longueur (L) de cathéter s'étendant hors de l'extrémité distale (1100) de l'aiguille, et est muni d'un ensemble de repères axiaux auxiliaires aisément différentiables des repères principaux (210), propres à indiquer, par simple lecture, sans calculs, la longueur de cathéter s'étendant depuis son extrémité distale jusqu'à chacun desdits repères auxiliaires.
