METHOD OF AND APPARATUS FOR CARRYING OUT LOGGING WITH UNDERGROWTH PRESERVATION Abstract A method of carrying out logging with undergrowth preser- vation comprises the steps of moving the apparatus for carry- ing out logging with a space horizontal supporting structure from the processed logging parcel to a next one while simul- taneously topping off the trees, disbarking the tree trunk with simultaneous limbing, gripping the barkless stem at its upper part, sawing down the tree, and transporting the timber thus obtained towards a suitable accumulator. The apparatus for implementing the method as described above comprises a self-propelled frame, supports, a space ho- rizontal supporting structure mounted with the help of said supports on said frame, a transporting means located on said space horizontal supporting structure, a means for topping off the trees whose tops extend above the lower level of said space horizontal supporting structure, a disbarking means, a means for gripping the peeled tree trunk, a sawing down means, a manipulator, and an accumulator intended to store the ob- tained timber.
