A joint protection device is disclosed having a rigid outer shell and at least one cushioned pad on its inner face. The device is placed next to the joint area being protected. The cushioned pad is a cushioning foam material, or inflatable, or gel-filled for deflection or absorption of the forces encountered upon an impact. The device can be used for prevention of joint injury, especially injuries sustained by the elderly due to falls. The device is also provided with a belt and a gluteus medius pad for advantageously stablizing the hip joint.

Dispositif de protection articulaire qui comporte une coque externe rigide et au moins un coussinet rembourré sur sa face interne. Ledit dispositif se place à proximité de la région articulaire à protéger. Le coussinet rembourré est constitué de matériau en mousse de rembourrage, ou gonflable, ou rempli de gel afin de permettre la déviation ou l'absorption des forces en cas d'impact. Ledit dispositif peut être utilisé pur la prévention des blessures articulaires, en particulier des blessures dont souffrent les personnes agées à la suite de chutes. Ce dispositif est également pourvu d'une ceinture et d'un coussinet de moyen fessier destinés à stabiliser avantageusement l'articulation de la hanche.
