The present invention relates to a vehicle user interface unit for a vehicle electronic device, comprising: - a 3D display unit (101) comprising a display (102), the 3D display unit being adapted to display, in operation, an image such that the image is perceived by a user as a virtual 3D image (110) at least partially located in front of the display (102) when the user (140) observes the display (102); - a display control unit (120) adapted to control the generation of the image by the 3D display unit (101) such that said virtual 3D image (110) comprises a 3D object (111) having at least two regions (112, 113) located in different spatial planes, each region comprising plural interaction elements (115); and - an input unit (130) adapted to detect the location of a user-controlled object (150) and to interpret the detection of a predefined variation of the user- controlled object (150) as a selection of one of said interaction elements (115) comprised in the virtual 3D image (110).
