Composition and methods are disclosed for antagonizing SRS-A; and especially LTD4, comprising the administration of LXA4 or an active derivative thereof to an animal. These compositions and methods are useful in the control of hemostasis, vascular reactivity, and especially vasoconstriction, and, anaphylactic and allergic reactions in animals.

La composition et les procédés de production d'une action antagoniste contre des substances d'anaphylaxie à réaction lente (SRS-A) et en particulier contre le leucotriène D4 (LTD4) utilisent l'administration de LXA4 (Lipoxine A4) ou d'un dérivé actif de cette lipoxine à un animal. De telles compositions et de tels procédés servent à réguler l'hémostase, la réactivité vasculaire et en particulier la vaso-constriction ainsi qu'à combattre les réactions anaphylactiques et allergiques chez les animaux.
