Abstract of the Disclosure This invention relates to a hinged ski boot comprising a rigid lower boot portion, hingedly attached to a rigid shaft, wherein the upper part of the rigid lower boot portion forms one continuous portion with a longitudinal guiding structure, slidably guiding interchangeable portions of a resilient flex control element. An adjustably attachable rigid linkage hingedly secures an intermediate portion of the shaft to a portion of the flex control element, providing various forward-lean positions and wherein the flex control element provides independantly selectable forward and rearward flex, various degrees of flex biasing and an air pump to facilitate air management within the rigid lower boot portion. Finally, this invention provides a shaft embodiment comprising protective shields.
