A fire resistant, forced air cooled enclosure for one or more computer digital data storage devices is provided. An operable digital data storage device is mounted in a fire resistant enclosure. One or more openings are formed in the enclosure. A movable fire resistant hatch is positioned adjacent each of the openings and each hatch is movable between a closed position in which it closes the opening and an open position allowing ambient air to pass therethrough. A fan is positioned either inside or outside of the enclosure for actively driving ambient air through the opening to cool the data storage device. A hatch closure system is provided for closing each of said hatches automatically in the presence of a threshold temperature. The hatch closure system includes a temperature sensitive element which, when activated in the presence of the threshold temperature, causes the hatch to move to its closed position.
La présente invention concerne une enceinte refroidie par air forcé et résistante au feu destinée à un ou plusieurs dispositifs de stockage de données informatiques numériques. Un dispositif exploitable de stockage de données numériques est monté dans une enceinte résistante au feu. Une ou plusieurs ouvertures sont ménagées dans cette enceinte. Une trappe mobile résistante au feu est installée de manière adjacente à chacune des ouvertures et chaque trappe peut se déplacer entre une position fermée, dans laquelle elle ferme l'ouverture, et une position ouverte, dans laquelle elle permet à l'air ambiant de passer à travers l'ouverture. Un ventilateur est placé soit à l'intérieur, soit à l'extérieur de l'enceinte, afin d'entraîner activement l'air ambiant à travers l'ouverture, de manière à refroidir le dispositif de stockage de données. Un système de fermeture de trappe permet de fermer chacune des trappes de manière automatique en présence d'une température seuil. Ce système de fermeture de trappe comprend un élément sensible à la température qui, lorsqu'il est activé en présence de la température seuil, provoque le déplacement de la trappe dans sa position fermée.
