The medicine contains an amount of the compound (IS-cis)-4-(3,4-dichlorophenyl)-1,2,3,4- tetrahydro-N-methyl-l-naphthalenamine, also known by the generic name sertraline, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, effective in reducing or alleviating such dependency, in admixture with a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier.
