A novel elastomer material having an absorption coefficient for laser light of 0.5 - 2.5 mm-1, preferably being a base thermoplastic elastomer compounded with a colourant which comprises a Pantone 4597C pigment mixed with a carrier material. The elastomer is suited for use as a pharmaceutical vial closure which can be punctured by a filling needle and the puncture hole heat sealed by a focused laser.

L'invention concerne un nouveau matériau élastomère ayant un indice d'absorption de lumière laser compris entre 0,5 et 2,5 mm?-1¿, qui est, de préférence, un élastomère thermoplastique de base composé d'un colorant comprenant un pigment Pantone 4597C mélangé à un support. Ledit élastomère peut être utilisé comme fermeture de flacon pharmaceutique à perforer par une aiguille de remplissage, le trou de perforation étant thermoscellé par laser focalisé.
