A method of microwave cooking, heating and re-heating includes the steps of placing food to be cooked, heated or re-heated (18) into a microwave compatible container (16) having an open mouth thereof and, thereafter, applying over the mouth of said microwave compatible container (16) an FDA grade waxpaper (14) having a basis weight in a range of about 15/28 to about 26/40. Thereafter, the container (16) is placed in a microwave oven (20) for less than a prescribed period of heating for such food type and quantity. Alternatively, such FDA grade waxpaper may be tightly wrapped about food to be heated and thereafter placed within a microwave oven, thereby dispensing with the use of any microwave compatible container. An article further to the above method may take the form of a pouch.

La présente invention concerne un procédé de cuisson, chauffage et réchauffage aux micro-ondes. A cet effet, on commence par placer les aliments à cuire, chauffer ou réchauffer (18) dans un ustensile de cuisson allant aux micro-ondes (16) et dont l'ouverture n'est pas fermée. On applique ensuite sur l'ouverture de l'ustensile de cuisson allant aux micro-ondes (16) du papier paraffiné de qualité alimentaire (14) dont le grammage mesuré selon les usages américains se situe entre 15/28 et 26/40. On fait ensuite passer l'ustensile de cuisson (16) dans un four à micro-ondes (20) moins longtemps que la période de chauffage préconisée pour ce type et cette quantité d'aliments. On peut également envelopper serré les aliments dans le papier paraffiné de qualité alimentaire puis les faire passer au four à micro-ondes, ce qui évite à avoir à utiliser un ustensile de cuisson allant aux micro-ondes. Un article adapté à ce dernier procédé pourrait se présenter sous la forme d'un sachet.
