2066275 9103397 PCTABS00003 A twin-fluke anchor (40) includes a shank (42) with first and second ends, a stock (48), a pair of fluke elements mounted upon the stock (48) to pivot as a unit at the second end of the shank (42), and a crown (50). Each fluke element has a fluke (44, 46) defining a fluke surface (56) in a first plane, and a rib (64) generally perpendicular to the first plane, the shank (42) being disposed between the ribs (64). The crown (50) includes a pair of crown plates (52, 54) supported centrally of the flukes (44, 46) and spaced from the first plane. Each crown plate (52, 54) slopes upwardly and rearwardly away from the first plane (56) to permit bottom material to flow freely between the inner surfaces (53, 55) of the crown plates (52 54) and the flukes (44, 46). Each fluke element also includes an integral bracket extension (45), the crown plates (52, 54) being mounted thereupon, and each fluke element includes an integral unit of fluke (44, 46), rib (64) and bracket extension (45) formed without welding from a single sheet of stock material.
