Sheets (F) are picked up one by one from underneath a pile and carried onto a feeder table (M) designed to position every sheet by lateral alignment owing to three pairs (P1, P2, P3) of upper and lower rollers (1, 2). Every upper roller (2) is movable from a first position in which its periphery moves parallel to the forward motion the sheet with the purpose of its being conveyed, and a second position in which the periphery is slightly oblique with regard to the forward motion so as to shift the sheet crosswise in the direction of an aligning ruler. Such a device can be used in an infeed station of a cutting or printing machine converting the board sheets into package.
