The invention relates to a rear projection screen of the kind that is illuminated from behind, and that has at the front side lightdispersing material for reception of light beams from an image source with a view to showing the image with a mainly homogeneous luminosity over a wide viewing angle. The lightdispersing elements consist of a number of closely positioned, substantially parallel and in the application position of the screen vertically running lens elements, consisting of one or more triangular, asymmetric lens pairs that create angles with their axes of symmetry, which are different from the normal of the screen, and where each lens (19, 20) has total reflecting inner sides, and where between those one or more lenses (18) have been inserted lenses that are created to transmit light from the light source, and where on the outer side of each lens pair (19 and 20) transmitting lenses are placed, too.
L'invention concerne un écran de projection arrière illuminé par l'arrière, présentant au niveau de son côté frontal un matériau dispersant la lumière pour la réception des faisceaux lumineux provenant d'une source d'image de sorte que l'image soit présentée avec un luminosité principalement homogène selon un grand angle de vision. Les éléments de dispersion de la lumière consistent en plusieurs éléments à lentilles rapprochées, sensiblement parallèles, s'étendant verticalement lorsque l'écran est en position d'application, consistant en une ou plusieurs paires de lentilles triangulaires et asymétriques qui forment un angle avec leur axe de symétrie qui diffère de la normale de l'écran. Chaque lentille (19, 20) présente des côtés internes à réflexion totale et des lentilles sont insérées entre chacune d'elles de sorte que la lumière provenant de la source lumineuse soit transmise, des lentilles de transmission étant également prévues sur le côté extérieur de chaque paire de lentilles (19 et 20).
