Magnifying spectacles for cosmetic use include a crosspiece (2, 4) which extends across the face of the user and projecting upwardly from which are two magnifying lenses (12) whose size is not substantially larger than that of the human eye. The crosspiece includes a bridgepiece (8) which extends over the bridge of the nose of the user and whose apex is situated forwardly of the lenses (12). The crosspiece (2,4) is connected at each end to a respective side arm (16) which extends towards a position midway up the height of the ear of the user and terminates in an ear engagement portion. The ear engagement portion includes a portion (20) which extends upwardly along the front of the ear over a substantial proportion of its height. The eyebrows of the user are thus wholly exposed and may be plucked with the aid of the magnifying lenses (12) and a mirror. The lenses (12) are pivotally mounted on the crosspiece (2, 4) and may thus be pivoted in tum away from the associated eye to permit the application of cosmetics to that eye.

L'élément transversal se compose d'un pont (8) qui traverse l'arrête du nez et dont le sommet se trouve en avant par rapport aux verres (12). L'élément transversal (2, 4) est relié à chaque extrémité à une branche respective (16) qui s'étend en direction d'un point situé à mi-hauteur de l'oreille et se termine par une partie venant s'appuyer sur l'oreille. Cette partie venant s'appuyer sur l'oreille se compose d'une portion (20) dirigée vers le haut en suivant l'avant de l'oreille sur une proportion substantielle de sa hauteur. Les sourcils sont ainsi totalement exposés et peuvent être épilés à l'aide des verres grossissants (12) et d'un miroir. Le verres (12) sont montés de façon pivotante sur l'élément transversal (2, 4) et peuvent être tournés l'un après l'autre de manière à les éloigner de l'oeil correspondant pour permettre l'application de produits cosmétiques sur ce oeil.
