- 11 - ABSTRACT HOMOKINETIC TRANSMISSION The invention provides a substantially homokinetic transmission for rotationally connecting two shafts (13,15) one of which (13) is mounted on a fixed support (11) and the other of which (15) is mounted on a movable support (10) so that its inclination is variable, and comprises two pairs of universal joints (18,19 and 21,22) each interconnected by a connector of variable length (27,29) one pair attached to one of the shafts and the other attached to the other of the shafts; an intermediate shaft (24) of fixed length is inter- posed between the two pairs of universal joints and this is carried by a third support (25) pivotally mounted on the fixed support, and control means (29) are provided for con- trolling the inclination of the intermediate shaft in rela- tion to the position of the shaft which has a variable in- clination. The invention is particularly applicable to a dredger which comprises a floating hull and a boom of variable inclination, where it is desired to drive a pump or the like at the end of the boom with a motor on the hull.
