Abstract A catch device in agricultural equipment having at least two laterally arranged sections, which are swingable towards each other. Through the action of an operating mechanism, such as a hydraulic cylinder, the catch means not only automatically locks the sections when they are raised to a retracted position but also automatically releases the catch device when the sections are lowered and opened out to an operative position. This is provided by the operating mechanism being connected to a section with the aid of a means which is movable between two stops for allowing the catch device to assume a locking position when the sections are swung towards each other, while the movable means prevents the device from assuming its locking position during the swinging away from each other of the sections, this swinging movement being provided by the operating mechanism.
