ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A novel phosphorus containing zeolite catalyst is desribed, as well as its preparation and use in conversion of a large variety of organic compounds. The novel catalyst comprises a crystalline aluminosilicate zeolite which has a silica to alumina ratio of at least 12 and a constraint index in the range 1 to 12, and which has been treated so as to include at least 0.5 weight percent of phosphorus (by weight of the zeolite) in intimate association therewith.
