ABSTRACT Thermally insulated container for liquefied gas, in particular for liquified natural gas carrying marine tankers, comprising a lining of polyurethane foam arranged on the inner surface of a rigid outer shell, said outer shell being for example the inner hull of a ship having a double hull, at least one barrier con- sisting of glass-fibre material impregnated with epoxy resin being arranged within the lining of polyurethane foam. The lining of polyurethane foam is adapted to be in direct contact with the liquefied gas so that the conventional expensive metal inner tank can be omitted.
