MEANS PROVIDING INTERMITTENT MOTION TO A CAM MEANS OF A TIMING MECHANISM ABSTRACT OF DISCLOSURE A timing mechanism wherein a cam is rotated by a motor drive and wherein an electrical switch opens and closes in response to the cam. An intermittent drive couples the cam to the motor drive to provide intermittent rotation of the cam. The timing mechanism further compris- es a motor output member and a combination of a variable pitch gear with teeth of different lengths coupled to the motor output member. An eccentric drive is coupled to the variable pitch gear and engages the cam.
