ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Certain benzothiazoline compounds are found to have plant growth regulation activity on leguminous plants. These are compounds of the formula Image wherein X is halo; m is 0 or 1; R1 is CN, ?-OR3, ?-NR4R5 or ?-OH and agriculturally acceptable salts thereof; R2 is H, CN, lower alkyl or ?-OR3; R3 is lower alkyl; R4 and R5 are independently H, alkyl or when taken together with the nitrogen molecule form a heterocyclic havlng up to 8 carbon atoms, inclusive; and n is 0 or 2; provided than when R2 is ?-OR3, R1 is other than ?-OR3 when n is 0 or 2. These com- pounds are applied to the locus to be treated in a non-lethal amount using compositions which employ the compounds of the above formula in amounts of from about 95 - 5 parts by weight of the active ingredient in combination with a suitable carrier, diluent or adjuvant.
