Abstract An air filter for removing particulate matter from air with continuous cleaning of the filter element: the size of the filter is greatly reduced compared to conventional bag type filters by the use of pleated paper filter elements constructed to withstand the sudden pulsating forces inherent in reverse flow cleaning, and operated at derated velocities. Also included is a novel arrangement for mounting the filter elements in a manner which facili- tates their removal and replacement without tools or accessories.
