ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Each of paired pivot mechanisms pivotally holding a window sash within a supporting frame comprises a stationary base screwed to one of the constituent members of the support- ing frame and a pivot-carrying movable base fitted over the stationary base. By manipulation of a pair of adjusting screws the movable base and thus the pivot can be adjustably moved relatively to the stationary base in the longitudinal direction of the supporting frame member,i.e. in a selected one of mutually opposite directions generally parallel with the plane defined by the supporting frame and radial relative to the pivot. If desired, the spacing between the two bases can also be adjusted, by manipulation of the same pair of adjustment screws, in a direction which is axial relative to the pivot. The mechanism is equally applicable to either vertically or horizontally pivoted windows and presents an improvement of the possibility of utilizing one adjustment means for adjusting the pivot both radially and axially thereof.
